New Board Members
The Sobriety House Board of Trustees welcomes five new members over the past serveral months. “My gratitude for these people is endless,” said Charles Darrah, Board President. “I know their gifts and talents will be highly beneficial to the Board and the work at Sobriety House. Serving on this Board has been such a rewarding experience for me, I look forward to sharing that with them.”
Lelsey Fuller was the director of community relations for The Los Angeles Marathon for five years before coming to Denver in the early 1990s. She worked on marathons here and worked for the Colorado AIDS Project for two years as logistics coordinator of Aids Walk and Aids Bike Ride. She worked on the Colorado State Senate for five years as a legislative aide. “I find my passion in community activist work and especially in early education. I often tutor elementary age children,” said Ms. Fuller. She now works in what she got her degree in early on, nursing, at Kaiser Permanente.
Alf Gardner is the owner and president of Comfluent, Inc., a local high-tech communications company which serves customers worldwide. He has been involved with Sobriety House for the past few years volunteering his talents in photography and his expertise with technologies. He was instrumental in the selection of the telecommunications system installed at Sobriety House in 2008. “The opportunity to be of service to substance abusers is most important to me,” said Mr. Gardner. Alf lives in Denver with his wife and brand new twin babies.
Eric Dunham is a business operations analyst with Frontier Airlines. Eric has volunteered with Denver Safe House, Champa House and other local organizations. Eric and his wife, Joanne, live in Aurora and run a catering business in their spare time. In this capacity, they have donated their talents to help with celebrations at Sobriety House over the past couple of years. Eric is native to Colorado and loves all sorts of outdoor activities. “I recently climbed my first 14er and plan to tackle two more before the end of the summer,” said Mr. Dunham.
Grady Hunt is the regional VP at Murex Properties, LLC. He has served on industry trade organization boards in Colorado, Georgia, Idaho and Texas. On a national level, he was on the board of the Manufactured Housing Institute and was a founding member of the Manufactured Housing Educational Institute. “After all of my involvement with trade boards, I look forward to serving on the board of Sobriety House,” said Mr. Hunt. For several years, he was a volunteer with the March of Dimes committee that organized and managed the March of Dimes Walk America fundraiser in Denver. Grady enjoys snow skiing, reading, traveling and live theater. He lives with his wife in Denver.
