Residential Treatment

Sobriety House offers two residential treatment programs:

Intensive Residential Treatment (IRT)/Phase I

Transitional Residential Treatment (TRT)/Phase II

In both residential programs, clients have expectations they need to meet. Maintaining sobriety is the number one priority. All clients are subject to random urinalysis (UA) testing. Additionally, clients are expected to attend weekly house meetings, perform their assigned chore(s), participate in at least three support meetings per week (provided on campus or outside meetings), and complete any assigned homework. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in written warnings, write ups, and/or discharge from the program.

Please see the information below to learn about the differences between Sobriety House’s IRT and TRT programs.

Intensive Residential Treatment (IRT)/Phase I

- 28 day program/4 weeks

- Clients attend three groups per day, seven days per week

- Weekly group themes of Feelings Awareness, Sobriety Maintenance, Stress Management, and Assertiveness Training

- Clients attend individual sessions with their assigned counselor once per week for an hour

- During this phase, clients are restricted to campus, aside from important appointments that cannot be moved and/or field trips with Sobriety House staff for program activities

- Clients do not have access to personal electronic devices, such as cell phones and laptops

Transitional Residential Treatment (TRT)/Phase II

- Can stay for up to 6 months, but length of stay varies by client and will be determined in sessions with your individual counselor.

- Groups are Monday and Thursday evenings for two hours each night.

- Clients attend individual sessions with their assigned counselor once per week for an hour (this counselor will be the same from IRT, if a client completes both residential programs).

- During the week, clients are expected to be off campus for several hours each day.  Most clients are working, looking for work, attending support meetings, going to school, volunteering, going to important appointments, etc.

- Clients are allowed access to personal electronic devices during the day but must turn them in to House Management before bed.  They can be checked out again the next morning.
